China has absolutely zero intent of ever getting into a military conflict with the US. Their goal is to topple/subserviate us economically, not militarily. Military conflict with the US is a hopelessly moronic idea. Mucking up our economy so bad that we want to be "saved" by someone else and basically vote ourselves into communism is how you beat the US.

They are also playing the long game...if it take a hundred years, they are OK with that. None of our leaders can think past their next election.
